Who we are

ViewFlip ("we", "us") operates a video-first talent marketplace that helps employers discover creative professionals through short intro and Q&A videos. This policy describes how we handle personal data while the product is in early access / founding cohort.

What we collect

  • Account data — name, email, role (talent or employer), city, and profile fields you submit.
  • Video & media — intro and Q&A recordings, thumbnails, audio, transcripts, captions, and processing metadata needed to host and stream your content.
  • Usage & product analytics — impressions, watch-through, saves, and similar engagement signals used to rank and improve discovery (not to auto-reject candidates).
  • Waitlist — email, city, vertical, and role when you join the waitlist.
  • Employer context — organization name, job posts, pipeline notes, and messaging content you create on the Service.

Video, biometrics & likeness

Video is core to ViewFlip. When you upload or record, you provide audiovisual content that may include your face, voice, workspace, and spoken personal details. We process that media to:

  • Store, transcode, stream, and thumbnail your clips for the Service
  • Generate transcripts and captions for accessibility and search-within-profile
  • Run safety pre-screens (see AI below); humans decide enforcement actions
  • Show your media according to your visibility settings

We do not sell video likeness for third-party advertising. Published public profiles are intentionally visible to visitors and employers. You can unpublish, switch to unlisted / platform-only, or request deletion (see DSR).

AI, ranking & automated processing

ViewFlip uses automated systems to rank and recommend talent in employer feeds and to assist moderation. Inputs may include skills, location, profile completeness, and engagement signals (e.g. watch-through, saves).

  • No auto-reject. Ranking reorders discovery; it does not decide hires or permanently exclude candidates by algorithm alone.
  • No protected characteristics as features. We do not use race, religion, sex, age, disability status, or similar protected attributes as ranking inputs.
  • Human oversight. Safety flags and enforcement actions are reviewed under our trust & safety processes.

Profile visibility & search engines

You control how widely your profile can be discovered:

  • Public — may appear in employer feeds and be eligible for search-engine indexing; public pages may include Schema.org Person structured data.
  • Unlisted — reachable with your link; not intended for browse-feed discovery.
  • Platform only — visible to signed-in employers on ViewFlip, not to the open web.

Even with Public visibility, third-party search engines decide what to crawl and rank. Removing a profile from ViewFlip does not instantly clear cached copies elsewhere; contact us if you need help with takedown coordination.

How we use data

  • Operate public profiles, job pages, and employer feeds.
  • Recommend talent to employers using skills, location, and engagement.
  • Moderate content for safety.
  • Communicate product updates, waitlist status, and support replies.
  • Improve product reliability, fraud prevention, and city-level liquidity metrics.

Sharing

Public profiles and published videos are visible to visitors and employers by design. We do not sell personal data. We may use processors (hosting, video streaming, email, analytics, payments) under contracts that limit use to providing our service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users from serious harm.

Your rights (data subject requests)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of personal data, and to object to certain processing. To submit a request:

  • Email privacy@viewflip.app with subject line DSR
  • Include the email on your account and the type of request (access, correction, deletion, export)
  • We may need to verify identity before fulfilling the request

Product self-serve options (unpublish, visibility, account settings) remain available and are often faster for visibility changes. Staff process formal DSRs through our compliance console.

Retention

We retain account and media data while your account is active and as needed for legal, security, and dispute purposes. Waitlist entries can be removed on request. Deleted media may remain in short-lived backups before purge.

Security

We use industry-standard controls appropriate to an early-stage product (encrypted transport, access-limited admin tools, audit logging for sensitive staff actions). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
